TITLE: Designing Video Games to Motivate Health Behavior Change
ABSTRACT: Video games and other digital media can be powerful interactive environments for learning and behavior change. In this talk, Debra Lieberman, Ph.D., Director of UCSB’s Center for Digital Games Research, will present well-researched design features that have been used in effective games for health. She will also discuss specific health games and their psychological, behavioral, and cultural impacts.
Bio: Debra Lieberman’s research focuses on processes of motivation, learning, and health behavior change with digital media and games. She directs the Center for Digital Games Research www.cdgr.ucsb.edu at UC Santa Barbara and consults on the research and design of media for impact.
